My name is Alon Yaffe,

I am an English-speaking senior Clinical Psychologist and psychoanalyst working in private practice based in Tel Aviv.

I am experienced in working with adults, adolescent and couples.

I supervise and consult mental health professionals and I teach seminars on Lacanian psychoanalysis for analysts. I also teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

In my clinic I offer a safe and a non-judgmental professional environment.

Starting a therapy is, to my mind, a very brave and important step when facing an impasse, experiencing an acute distress or a confusion regarding a life choice. It usually reflects a desire for a change or a desire to know yourself better in order to find passion and satisfaction or to be able to cope with difficult life situations.

Psychotherapy can bring about change through a new way of listening to yourself, presicely when being overburdened by anxiety, depression, or loneliness, loss, or relationship problems.

It is not always a long process, but its influence can be very tangible. My approach involves bearing always in mind each person’s singularily and striving to listen to his or her unique voice.

I work with people struggling with various emotional difficulties and mental health issues, "including":

• Depression and emotional difficulties – lack of interest and desire, ‘feeling stuck’ in your life or feeling emptiness
• Stress and anxiety - panic attacks, "social anxiety", phobias and stress related to trauma (PTSD)
• Emotional distress of adolescence and difficulties of adult – relationships; professional impasses; questions of sexual identity
• Difficulties and crises within a romantic relationship - relationship distress; divorce or separation; infidelity
• Stressful life events and crises – being fired; immigration distress; grief & loss; retirement and emotional distress related to old age; coping with illness etc.
